We’re looking for a Senior Release Manager to join a large-scale transport organization in Brussels. In this role, you’ll guarantee the stability of production systems by planning, coordinating, and delivering application releases. You’ll be working in a hybrid setup, with a mix of on-site presence in Brussels and remote work.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and organize releases and maintenance slots.
- Define the content of releases based on business priorities and available resources.
- Identify risks, technical and business impacts, and interdependencies with stakeholders and release coordinators.
- Ensure alignment with Change Managers, internal customers, and other Release Managers.
- Present each release to the Change Advisory Board (CAB) for approval.
- Verify deliverables such as test results, installation procedures, risk and impact analysis, and operational documentation.
- Communicate effectively during key release milestones (planning, procedure, implementation).
- Ensure proper updates of configuration items in the CMDB.
- Organize lessons-learned sessions after major releases and drive improvements.
- Support the Release Process Owner and promote release management best practices.
What are we looking for?
- Proven 3+ years track record as a Senior Release Manager (recent experience required).
- Strong expertise with ITIL processes, especially Change, Configuration, Incident, and Problem Management.
- Hands-on experience with CAB management and release documentation.
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, and O365 (SharePoint/Visio).
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to influence developers and stakeholders.
- Language skills: native or bilingual in French or Dutch, with professional proficiency in the other and in English.
- Nice to have: knowledge of public transport systems, telecom, or radio communication networks (TETRA, Astrid).
