We are looking for an experienced Windows DevOps Engineer to manage and optimise a complex, security-critical infrastructure environment. You will oversee system reliability, hardening, monitoring and automation across Windows-based platforms, while contributing to secure, modern and resilient operations. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong ownership and the ability to coach others in a high-stakes environment.

What you’ll do

  • Design and implement technical solutions that strengthen and modernise the Windows infrastructure.
  • Manage and maintain Windows server and workstation environments to ensure operational continuity.
  • Lead infrastructure initiatives, coordinate activities and support optimal project execution.
  • Drive hardening, auditing and security improvements across Windows systems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, procedures and operational guidelines for Windows environments.
  • Support monitoring, troubleshooting and performance tuning for complex system issues.
  • Manage virtualised environments and contribute to containerisation efforts where relevant.
  • Maintain backup, restore and inventory processes to guarantee system integrity.
  • Guide and coach junior engineers, sharing best practices and improving team capability.
  • Collaborate closely with security, network and DevOps teams to align processes and strengthen overall system reliability.
  • Apply and uphold security and confidentiality requirements within a sensitive operational context.

What are we looking for?

  • You have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Windows-focused DevOps or Systems Engineer.
  • You have expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows workstation and server environments.
  • You possess strong skills in infrastructure security, system hardening and auditing.
  • You have experience with VMware virtualisation; experience with Docker or Podman is a plus.
  • You are proficient in Active Directory, Exchange, DFS, SCCM, Git/GitLab, PowerShell scripting and event monitoring.
  • You have knowledge of networking, storage and cybersecurity principles.
  • You are comfortable working with monitoring and log analysis tools (ELK stack).
  • You can diagnose complex performance and availability issues and implement high-availability solutions.
  • You understand DevOps principles and can integrate them into infrastructure operations.
  • You are familiar with ITILv4 service management practices.
  • You communicate fluently in Dutch or French, with a good understanding of the other national language and English.
  • You hold Belgian nationality and are willing to obtain a security clearance at “Very Secret” level.
