We are looking for an experienced Linux DevOps Engineer to design, operate and secure a complex, mission-critical Linux infrastructure. You will be responsible for automation, platform reliability, CI/CD enablement and system hardening across Linux-based environments, while actively contributing to security, resilience and operational excellence in a highly sensitive context.

What you’ll do

  • Design and implement robust infrastructure solutions that support secure, scalable and evolving Linux platforms.
  • Build, maintain and optimise automated infrastructure and delivery pipelines aligned with DevOps principles.
  • Ensure operational continuity through proactive system management, monitoring and incident follow-up.
  • Drive security hardening, auditing and compliance across Linux systems.
  • Coordinate infrastructure activities to ensure smooth execution of platform and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Maintain and evolve technical documentation, procedures and operational standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex system and performance issues, including high-availability scenarios.
  • Contribute to inventory automation and configuration consistency across environments.
  • Support and improve monitoring and log analysis capabilities.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers, actively sharing expertise and best practices.
  • Collaborate with security, network and platform teams to strengthen DevOps workflows and system reliability.
  • Apply and enforce information security principles in a confidential, high-trust environment.

What are we looking for?

  • You have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Linux-focused DevOps or Systems Engineer.
  • You have strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments; certification is a plus.
  • You have proven experience with Linux system hardening, auditing and security best practices.
  • You possess solid knowledge of storage, networking and cybersecurity fundamentals.
  • You have hands-on experience with HAProxy and NGINX.
  • You are proficient with virtualisation and container technologies, including VMware, Docker and Podman.
  • You have experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management, including Terraform/OpenTofu and Ansible Automation Platform.
  • You are familiar with Red Hat Satellite, OpenShift and Ceph in enterprise environments.
  • You have working knowledge of Git/GitLab, PostgreSQL, Zabbix and shell scripting.
  • You are comfortable with monitoring and log analysis tools, including the ELK stack.
  • You understand and apply DevOps principles and delivery practices in operational environments.
  • You have knowledge of IT Service Management (ITIL v4 Foundation).
  • You communicate fluently in Dutch or French, with working knowledge of English.
  • You hold Belgian nationality and are willing to obtain a “Very Secret” security clearance.

Duration: 01/03/2026 – 01/03/2027 (full-time)
