As a DevOps Engineer you'll strengthen the IAM capabilities of the organisation by designing, integrating, and operating authentication and identity services across a complex academic environment. You work closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure reliable delivery, automation and compliance.

Your work includes:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining IAM solutions based on MidPoint and Apereo CAS
  • Applying and integrating modern authentication standards (SAML, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, LDAP) across applications and services
  • Developing automation scripts and integrations to streamline IAM operations
  • Supporting CI/CD delivery using tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Tekton, and ArgoCD
  • Operating and enhancing OpenShift-based container environments
  • Managing and optimising databases used within IAM workflows (Oracle, PostgreSQL)
  • Contributing to DevOps pipelines, release processes, monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Managing IAM-related projects end-to-end with stakeholders from IT and functional teams
  • Communicating clearly with technical and non-technical audiences and documenting solutions
  • Ensuring IAM services remain secure, reliable, and compliant with institutional and regulatory requirements

What are we looking for?

  • You hold a Master's degree in Computer Science or Information Security.
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in an academic IT environment.
  • You possess strong skills in IAM Technologies including MidPoint IAM and Apereo CAS.
  • Strong experience with IAM standards and protocols: SAML, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, LDAP
  • Senior experience in DevOps environments with  mix of OpenShift, ArgoCD, GitLab, Jenkins and/or Tekton
  • You can automate tasks through scripting languages.
  • You are an effective communicator in both technical and non-technical settings.
  • You are a strong team player with project management capabilities.
  • You have proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • You are willing to work in a hybrid format with 4 days on site.
  • You are proficient in French and have professional working proficiency in English.

Location: Brussels (hybrid — 4 days on site, 1 day remote)

Contract: Freelance or Permanent
