We are seeking a Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Officer to strengthen the operational resilience of a leading energy infrastructure company.
You’ll work within the Operations Office team, helping to design, coordinate, and continuously improve Disaster Recovery (DRP) and Business Continuity (BCP) exercises — ensuring the organization can respond effectively to digital or operational disruptions.
This is a hands-on coordination and documentation role at the intersection of IT operations, cybersecurity, and crisis management. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare and execute simulation exercises ranging from internet disconnections and cyberattacks to power or communication outages.
Your Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and document DRP and BCP exercises, from preparation to lessons-learned follow-up.
- Design simulation scenarios (e.g., blackout, cyber incident, communication outage) and facilitate debriefings.
- Maintain detailed and structured documentation to support DRP readiness.
- Collaborate with crisis management teams to improve preparedness and response playbooks.
- Support release management activities, including:
- Preparing patching schedules and communications
- Validating intervention plans (IPs)
- Participating in CAB (Change Advisory Board) meetings
- Following up on related actions and improvements
What are we looking for?
Must-Have Skills
- Solid understanding of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Management principles.
- Knowledge of ISO 22301, NIS 2, and Crisis Management frameworks.
- Experience with incident response, backup/recovery, or resilience testing.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure, firewalls, and networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, routing).
- Working knowledge of CIS Controls, ISO 27001, and defense-in-depth security strategies.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills; able to translate complex exercises into actionable plans.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management across technical and non-technical teams.
- Language Requirements: Dutch or French (fluent) + English (good command)
Nice-to-Haves
- Understanding of cloud security (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK or NIST incident response frameworks.
- Experience designing and facilitating continuity exercises.
