Our client, a prominent public sector organization, is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to lead the development of their Internal Developer Platform (IDP). The role focuses on creating a modern, secure, and efficient development environment based on platform-as-a-product principles.

Your responsibilities:

  • Design and refine OpenShift cluster architecture, including networking, storage, and lifecycle management.
  • Build reusable platform building blocks such as Helm charts, operators, and standardized runtime patterns.
  • Implement a GitOps-first approach using Argo CD for platform and application configuration.
  • Enable application teams through containerization coaching and Kubernetes deployment standardization.
  • Develop golden paths and self-service flows using documentation and tools like Backstage.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure domains such as security and observability to integrate platform capabilities.

What are we looking for?

  • You have 8+ years experience in platform engineering and DevOps environments.
  • You bring 8+ years experience with container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • You have 8+ years experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, and ArgoCD.
  • You possess 5+ years experience with cloud-native technologies including Helm, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • You have 1+ years experience with scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or Terraform.
  • You're familiar with developer experience (DX) and change management within technical teams.
  • You are native in Dutch or French with a passive knowledge of English and the other national language.
  • You can provide a portfolio document outlining your approach to platform evolution and standardization.

Nice to Haves

  • Certification in platform engineering.
  • Experience working in a government or regulated environment.
