Our client operates a large, highly automated manufacturing environment with advanced robotics, AI-enabled systems, and high-speed production lines. To support scalable analytics and real-time decision-making across equipment and departments, the organization is redesigning its IT/OT data architecture around a Unified Namespace.
The Senior IT/OT Data Architect is responsible for defining and governing this target architecture, enabling reliable real-time and historical data flows across industrial systems in a regulated manufacturing context.
Responsibilities:- Consult stakeholders to refine user requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
- Design end-to-end IT/OT data architectures supporting real-time and historical analytics use cases.
- Define and implement scalable data pipelines to extract, enrich, and publish industrial data into a Unified Namespace.
- Design the UNS data model, including naming conventions, topic hierarchies, and data contracts aligned with ISA-88/95 principles.
- Guide and mentor engineers during development and deployment of data pipelines and integration components.
- Design custom components to expose data from legacy or previously closed industrial systems.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize pipeline performance in terms of latency, throughput, and reliability.
- Document architectural decisions and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
What are we looking for?
- You have a Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, automation, or a related technical field.
- You bring a minimum of 7 years of experience in software, data, or solution architecture roles.
- You possess deep, hands-on understanding of Unified Namespace (UNS) concepts and patterns.
- You have experience with DataOps platforms used to extract, enrich, and publish industrial data.
- You bring strong experience with message brokers, caching systems, and relational and non-relational databases.
- You have hands-on experience with industrial automation protocols and equipment integrations.
- You are experienced with DevOps practices, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
- You have a solid understanding of software architecture and basic network topology principles.
- You are fluent in Dutch and English.
- You have experience working in manufacturing environments.
Nice to Haves
- Experience in pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industries.
- Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Python or JavaScript.
- Experience designing architectures supporting AI/ML workloads.
