A major digital transformation programme is underway to modernise core operational systems across wholesale, dealer management, order flows, pricing, stock, logistics, and invoicing.

This transformation involves a significant shift from legacy mainframe platforms toward a Cloud-based ERP ecosystem, supported by modern integration patterns, API-driven connectivity, and Agile ways of working.

We are looking for a Solution Designer / Analyst — a hybrid profile combining solution definition, functional analysis, process modelling, and technical integration analysis.

You will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, architects, development teams, and external technology partners.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design

  • Shape end-to-end solution proposals that align current legacy capabilities with the new Cloud ERP target state.
  • Produce high-level and detailed solution designs across applications, interfaces, and integrations (under the guidance of enterprise/data architects).
  • Model data flows and integrations using APIs, MQ, FTP, and other patterns, focusing on quality, security, and traceability.
  • Prepare solution documentation required for architecture review and governance processes.

Business Analysis

  • Translate business needs into clear, structured requirements following Agile methodologies.
  • Analyse and document business processes, business flows, user stories, and use cases.
  • Facilitate workshops with stakeholders across sales, logistics, finance, and dealer networks.
  • Support the creation of test cases and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Functional Analysis

  • Develop functional designs based on the agreed solution concept and project methodology.
  • Write functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Produce component and data models within the ERP ecosystem.
  • Prepare system and integration test scenarios and coordinate with dependent teams.

Technical Analysis

  • Bridge functional design and technical implementation, particularly the legacy-to-cloud transition.
  • Write detailed technical specifications for development teams (onshore & offshore).
  • Define API requirements, interface mappings, and data contracts between mainframe systems (COBOL, DB2) and the new Cloud ERP platform.
  • Support development and testing activities, and analyse legacy components when needed.

What are we looking for?

  • Solid professional experience combining solution design, functional analysis, and technical/data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, including:
    • data modelling (logical & physical)
    • data flows and transformations
    • master data and reference data
    • data quality, lineage, traceability
  • Experience with modern ERP systems (e.g. SAP S/4HANA or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with Cloud platforms and API-driven integration.
  • Ability to understand and work with legacy mainframe systems (COBOL, DB2, JCL).
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with business and technical teams.
  • Fluent in English; Dutch or French is an asset.
  • Nice to Have

    • Background in automotive, supply chain, or wholesale distribution.
    • Experience collaborating with external vendors and offshore delivery teams.

    What do we offer?

    Location: Ghent (hybrid)

    Contract: Freelance or Permanent

    Duration: 01.12.2025 - 30.11.2026
