We’re looking for an experienced Senior Application Platform Engineer to join the Application Platform team responsible for designing, maintaining, and improving the environments where business applications are deployed. You’ll collaborate closely with development teams, ensuring a stable and efficient application platform across both on-prem and cloud-native environments.
What You’ll Do
- Design, implement, and manage application platforms across Windows Server and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Maintain and document the software components forming the application platform, including configuration and support procedures.
- Support developers and architects during solution design and deployment phases.
- Diagnose and resolve application, infrastructure, and integration issues.
- Coach and support team members on platform tools and best practices.
- Drive automation, observability, and reliability improvements across the stack.
- Participate in an on-call rotation (1 week every 4 weeks, if required).
What are we looking for?
- Minimum 4 years of experience managing cloud-native workloads in a corporate environment.
- Advanced experience with Kubernetes (AKS preferred) and related tools such as Istio, Keda, Harbor, or Helm.
- Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible or Terraform.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps Pipelines).
- Proven experience with public cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Hands-on scripting experience (PowerShell, Azure CLI).
- Fluent in English and able to follow conversations in both Dutch and French.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- You don’t need to master all, but familiarity with several of these is a plus: Windows Server, PowerShell DSC, HashiCorp Consul, ArgoCD, Grafana Stack (Alloy, Mimir, Loki, Tempo), Citrix ADC, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, Chocolatey, Inedo ProGet.
