Our client, a large public-sector organization operating mission-critical transport and planning systems, is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to design and safeguard complex integration-heavy solutions. The role focuses on end-to-end architecture, API contract design, and hands-on technical oversight in a multi-channel, cloud-based integration landscape.
This is an execution-oriented architecture role that combines design authority with active involvement in troubleshooting, integration validation, and delivery assurance.
Responsibilities:- Translate business requirements into end-to-end technical architectures aligned with enterprise standards.
- Design and govern API contracts using OpenAPI and established integration patterns.
- Ensure scalability, security, performance, and reliability across solution designs.
- Provide hands-on technical support during implementation, including troubleshooting complex integration issues.
- Review and validate supplier solutions to ensure compliance with architectural and security guidelines.
- Support onboarding of new business changes within existing integration landscapes.
- Contribute to audits by assessing solution conformity with internal standards.
What are we looking for?
- You have a minimum of 7+ years of experience in a solution or technical architecture role.
- You bring at least 5+ years of experience designing API contracts and integration interfaces.
- You possess strong knowledge of API-first architectures, microservices, and cloud-native design principles.
- You have hands-on experience with Azure and modern integration patterns.
- You bring experience with middleware or integration platforms such as Axway or equivalent tools.
- You are comfortable troubleshooting performance, security, and reliability issues in complex integration landscapes.
- You are fluent in English and French or Dutch.
Nice to Haves
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies.
- Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tooling.
