We’re looking for a Senior Functional Analyst to support complex digitalisation initiatives with a strong focus on safety, process quality, and regulatory compliance. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning complex business needs into clear, structured solutions and who feels at home in large organisations with multiple stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Work closely with stakeholders to capture, validate, and refine business and functional requirements.
  • Analyse existing operational and safety-related processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Translate requirements into clear functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with development teams and act as a bridge between business expectations and technical delivery.
  • Define test cases, support test execution, and validate delivered solutions.
  • Assess the impact of new features or changes on existing processes, systems, and stakeholders, and communicate those findings clearly.
  • Produce high-quality documentation such as work instructions, user guides, and structured process descriptions.

What are we looking for?

  • You bring 10+ years of experience as a Functional/Business Analyst in complex ICT environments, ideally in Agile/Scrum teams.
  • You’re confident working with:
    • Requirements elicitation: interviews, workshops, document analysis.
    • Process modelling: BPMN, UML, or similar techniques.
    • End-to-end analysis: from AS-IS/TO-BE to functional specs and user stories.
    • Impact analysis: understanding how changes affect processes, systems, and users.
    • Functional documentation: clear, structured, and actionable.
  • Language matters in this environment: you’re fluent in Dutch or French (C1), understand the other national language at A2, and communicate professionally in English (C1).
  • A relevant degree in IT, business, engineering, or equivalent experience is expected.
  • Nice to Have

    • Experience in safety-critical or highly regulated environments.
    • Familiarity with modelling tools such as Sparx or BPMN suites.
    • Previous exposure to mobility, transport, or infrastructure contexts.

    Contract: Freelance or Permanent

    Start: 01/03/2026
