You will join a large-scale digital modernization program focused on rebuilding a mission-critical case management platform. The program operates under tight timelines and high quality standards, combining modern cloud-native engineering with strong governance and interoperability constraints.
You will translate high-level solution architectures into concrete implementation architectures and deliver them end-to-end in production. The focus is on analysis, design, and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate high-level solution architectures into detailed implementation architectures and working solutions
- Design, build, and integrate secure, scalable APIs and microservices in a cloud-native environment
- Implement and optimize event-driven solutions and integration flows
- Actively contribute to development, testing, deployment, and operationalization of applications
- Support CI/CD pipeline setup and optimization across development, test, acceptance, and production environments
- Collaborate closely with enterprise architects, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders
- Contribute to sprint ceremonies and continuous technical improvement within large agile delivery teams
What are we looking for?
- You have a higher education degree in Computer Science or equivalent (EU-recognized), and can provide proof
- You have 10+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing APIs and microservices
- You bring 10+ years of hands-on Java SE experience, including Java 10+ in recent projects
- You have 8+ years of experience in software and solution design (cloud, API, microservices, event-driven systems)
- You have 5+ years of hands-on experience working with event-driven architectures and messaging-based systems
- You have 3+ years of hands-on experience with cloud-native development, preferably on Microsoft Azure
- You have 3+ years of experience integrating and operating PaaS services in a cloud environment
- You have 3+ years of experience working with NoSQL databases
- You have 3+ years of experience implementing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Azure DevOps
- You are fluent in English and have active knowledge of Dutch or French
Nice-to-Have Experience
- Hands-on experience with Quarkus
- Experience with Domain Driven Design (DDD)
- Experience with Event Driven Development (EDD) and/or Behavior Driven Development (BDD)
- Familiarity with European interoperability standards
- Experience working within a federal or public-sector IT landscape
