Join the Digital Solutions and Innovation department of a leading international steel manufacturer as part of an application and project team within the logistics section. Develop and maintain all logistics industrial software covering tracking systems for trucks, trains, and ships. Work on both extensions to existing applications and larger software projects while collaborating with experienced team members in a highly technological production environment. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in one of Belgium's most innovative industrial sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently take on tasks for both back-end and front-end software development in close collaboration with the team
  • Design, develop, and maintain logistics tracking systems for trucks, trains, and ships
  • Translate functional requirements into technical implementations
  • Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code following best practices
  • Perform thorough testing and debugging of applications
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation
  • Maintain and enhance existing applications while building new features

What are we looking for?

  • You have a Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent through 5+ years of experience
  • You have 5+ years hands-on experience with .NET development using C#
  • You have strong experience with WPF for building desktop applications
  • You have solid experience working with Microsoft SQL Server including writing queries, stored procedures, and database design
  • You have experience with version control systems such as Git or TFS
  • You have experience with the full software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment
  • You bring meticulous attention to detail when implementing, commenting, and testing software
  • You have experience working with RESTful APIs and web services
  • You have active knowledge of Dutch or are willing to learn it in the short term

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with Angular for front-end development
  • Experience programming in a production or industrial environments
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks
  • Knowledge of Entity Framework or other ORM tools
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
