Our client, a specialized public safety organization, is seeking a driven software engineer to join an established team in developing critical operational applications. The role focuses on the end-to-end development of a Python-based platform to support specialized investigation needs.
Your responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain new features for a mission-critical Python application using the Django framework.
- Build and optimize user-facing components using modern frontend technologies like React.
- Translate complex operational requirements into robust technical specifications and software components.
- Manage deployment and infrastructure tasks using containerization tools within an on-premise environment.
- Ensure high standards of data quality, integrity, and reliability across all software modules.
- Collaborate with a small team using Agile methodologies to deliver innovative data-driven solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges through analytical problem-solving.
What are we looking for?
- You have 3+ years of backend development experience with Python and the Django framework.
- You bring 3+ years of frontend development expertise with React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- You possess experience in SQL and data manipulation using pandas.
- You have experience with API development using REST, SOAP, and GraphQL.
- You're experienced in DevOps practices using Docker, Docker Compose, and CI/CD pipelines.
- You have experience with version control systems such as Git, GitHub, or GitLab.
- You are proactive, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication and analytical skills.
- You are fluent in English with active knowledge of Dutch and French (or active in one with passive knowledge of the other).
Nice to Haves
- Experience with Nginx or Apache web servers.
- Knowledge of Azure cloud platforms.
- Willingness to obtain a security clearance.
