Senior Network & OT Infrastructure Architect
Brussels-Capital
Digital - Architecture
Work experience: 3-5
Reference number: 92645

You will work in a critical public transport environment, supporting the modernization and operational resilience of industrial and operational technology (OT) systems that underpin metro operations. The organization is transitioning from legacy SDH infrastructure to an MPLS-based network architecture, tightly integrated with fiber and dark fiber networks, while maintaining strict availability, safety, and disaster recovery requirements.

This role sits at the intersection of network architecture, OT environments, and critical infrastructure operations, with direct impact on system reliability and team capability.

Role Description

  • As a Senior Network & OT Infrastructure Architect, you define and lead the migration strategy from SDH to MPLS, working closely with an external technology provider and internal teams.
  • You design, coordinate, and validate the migration approach, ensuring seamless interconnection with existing fiber and dark fiber infrastructure.
  • You define and execute Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity test plans aligned with a critical SafeNet environment, identifying system impacts and validating resilience measures.
  • You actively contribute to the maintenance and evolution of industrial and mission-critical environments supporting metro regulation and operations.
  • You define and help implement ITIL-based processes adapted to OT environments, ensuring operational consistency and incident handling maturity.
  • You share your expertise in networking, Linux, OT, and virtualization, coaching the team and raising the overall technical maturity.
  • You collaborate with internal teams to design and deploy virtualization, monitoring, and storage services within the OT landscape, aligned with existing enterprise technologies.
  • When existing solutions are insufficient, you propose, defend, and implement alternative technical approaches that remain operationally sound and enterprise-compatible.

What are we looking for?

  • You have strong, hands-on experience in network architecture, with a proven background in MPLS and legacy SDH environments.
  • You have experience working in industrial or OT environments, ideally within critical infrastructure or regulated transport contexts.
  • You have solid knowledge of Linux systems, virtualization technologies, and monitoring solutions in production environments.
  • You are familiar with ITIL principles and can adapt them pragmatically to OT and operational contexts.
  • You are comfortable working with external vendors and technology partners, including joint design and delivery responsibilities.
  • You communicate fluently in French or Dutch and have a professional working proficiency in English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Belden technologies.
  • Exposure to SafeNet or comparable critical network environments.
  • Experience in metro, rail, utilities, or other safety-critical sectors.
