Bachelor, Master
Work experience: 10+
Reference number: 92634

As a Domain Architect, you take ownership of the technology and infrastructure architecture within a large, complex organization. You combine deep technical expertise with an enterprise-wide perspective, ensuring that infrastructure, platforms, and enabling technologies are robust, secure, scalable, and future-ready.

You operate at the intersection of strategy and execution. You define architectural direction, guide technology choices, and support product teams and stakeholders in making well-founded decisions. While your focus is on the technology domain, you actively collaborate with enterprise and domain architects to ensure coherence across the broader architecture landscape.

Your objective is to design and evolve an infrastructure architecture that supports current business operations while remaining flexible enough to adapt to changing needs and technological advancements.

Responsibilities

  • You define and maintain a long-term infrastructure and technology strategy aligned with business and IT objectives, including future-state architectures, roadmaps, and investment plans.
  • You design detailed infrastructure architectures covering networks, compute, storage, cloud services, platforms, integrations, and security, ensuring they meet performance, cost, resilience, and scalability requirements.
  • You evaluate existing and emerging technologies, run proofs of concept where needed, and provide clear recommendations that support strategic goals and operational efficiency.
  • You establish, promote, and enforce technology standards, architectural principles, and reference architectures, and actively champion modern architectural patterns such as SOA, event-driven architectures, and microservices.
  • You ensure that architectural documentation for the technology domain is accurate, complete, and up to date, and you contribute to maintaining high-quality data in enterprise architecture repositories and tooling.
  • You support product teams in defining and maintaining disaster recovery and business continuity solutions, including testing strategies to ensure availability, resilience, and recoverability.
  • You guide cloud strategy and adoption, overseeing the integration of cloud and on-premises environments while ensuring security, compliance, and performance requirements are met.
  • You act as a trusted advisor to enterprise architects, domain architects, and business stakeholders, helping translate business needs into sound technology decisions.
  • You contribute to architectural governance by participating in steering groups, forums, and technical communities, representing the technology domain and helping align architecture across organizations.

What are we looking for?

  • You have 7–12+ years of experience in IT infrastructure roles, including work in large or distributed enterprise environments, with several years in an architecture or senior engineering role.
  • You bring deep expertise in infrastructure architecture, including networks, compute, storage, and cloud platforms.
  • You have strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including hybrid cloud integration.
  • You have a solid understanding of network and security technologies such as firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, IAM, and Zero Trust concepts.
  • You are experienced with virtualization and container platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • You have designed and implemented high-availability, backup, and disaster recovery solutions in complex environments.
  • You are comfortable evaluating new technologies, running proofs of concept, and translating outcomes into clear architectural guidance.
  • You are familiar with architectural frameworks and methodologies such as TOGAF and ITIL.
  • You understand modern architectural patterns, including SOA, event-driven systems, microservices, and API-driven architectures.
  • You have experience with infrastructure automation and DevOps practices, including tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • You have led or significantly contributed to cloud adoption, modernization, or transformation initiatives.
  • You have a proven track record in defining technology standards, reference architectures, and governance practices.
  • You have hands-on experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing.
