You will join a large, complex IT organization operating highly critical digital platforms. The environment combines software engineering, data platforms, and infrastructure operations, all relying on a robust DevOps foundation to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable systems.
You will work within the Operations / Platform domain, acting as a key technical bridge between software development teams, data teams, and infrastructure operations. Your work directly enables the industrialization of application delivery and the infrastructures that support them. As a DevOps Architect, you take ownership of the design, implementation, and evolution of DevOps platforms and practices. Your primary focus is on Kubernetes platforms and CI/CD pipelines, built and operated using Infrastructure as Code.
What you will do
- You design, deploy, and operate Kubernetes clusters across bare-metal, virtualized, and hybrid infrastructures. These platforms are built using Infrastructure as Code and serve as reference architectures for future environments, including production.
- You set up and evolve CI/CD pipelines to support both application development and infrastructure-as-code workflows. You improve existing pipelines and ensure they support a wide range of projects, from classic web applications to AI-oriented workloads.
- You ensure that all platforms meet strict non-functional requirements, including high availability, security, scalability, and observability.
- You collaborate closely with software engineers, data engineers, and data scientists to align infrastructure capabilities with application and data needs.
- You maintain and continuously improve the environments you build, responding to new requirements, incidents, or performance and security observations.
What are we looking for?
- You have several years of experience in a DevOps Architect or Senior DevOps Engineer role within complex environments.
- You have strong, hands-on expertise in Kubernetes, including on-premise deployments. Topics such as storage management, ingress, database integration, service exposure, security hardening, and scalability are familiar territory.
- You are experienced with Infrastructure as Code, with strong knowledge of Terraform. Experience with Pulumi is a plus.
- You have proven experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines with GitLab, for both application delivery and IaC workflows.
- You are comfortable with container technologies (Docker) and their integration into Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
- You have solid knowledge of security in Kubernetes environments, including RBAC, network policies, secret and certificate management, and automation of certificate lifecycles, including private domains.
- You are familiar with monitoring, logging, and observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, and service mesh technologies like Istio.
- You have a good understanding of software development concepts, including REST APIs, message brokers, and modern authentication mechanisms such as OpenID Connect and Entra ID / Microsoft 365 integration.
- You are used to working in Agile/Scrum environments and can take technical ownership within a project.
- You are fluent in English and have a working knowledge of Dutch or French. Active knowledge of one national language and at least passive understanding of the other is a strong plus.
