Data volumes within the energy sector are growing rapidly, and turning raw data into actionable insights is critical for informed decision-making. Within the context of new tariff methodologies and regulatory requirements, this role supports faster and more reliable insight generation by preparing high-quality datasets for advanced analysis and data science use cases.

You will work closely with business experts and data scientists to transform raw source data into structured, reliable, and reusable datasets that can be directly leveraged for analytics, modeling, and reporting.

What you’ll do

  • Prepare and transform raw data into analysis-ready datasets by selecting, validating, cleansing, enriching, and integrating data.
  • Collaborate closely with business domain experts responsible for source systems and regulatory knowledge.
  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines that support analytical and data science workflows.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and traceability, including proper documentation of transformations and assumptions.
  • Deliver well-structured datasets that enable data scientists to accelerate model development and analysis.
  • Support the industrialisation of data science models, ensuring data pipelines are production-ready and sustainable.
  • Contribute to reporting and insight generation where needed, in collaboration with BI and analytics stakeholders.

What are we looking for?

  • You have at least 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst and/or Data Engineer.
  • You have minimum 5 years of experience as a BI Consultant.
  • You have strong experience with Data Management and ETL processes, including data preparation for analytics and data science.
  • You have at least 3 years of hands-on experience with Databricks.
  • You have proven experience with ETL in a Data Science context (minimum 2 years).
  • You have experience industrialising Data Science models into repeatable, production-ready pipelines.
  • You have demonstrable knowledge of the tariff methodology of the Vlaamse Nutsregulator (VNR).
  • You are fluent in Dutch (CEFR C2 level).

Nice-to-have skills

  • Experience with Power BI for reporting and analysis.
  • Experience with requirements analysis in a data or analytics context.
  • Prior experience in the Belgian energy sector.
