Senior Network Security Engineer (IT/OT)

Our client, a large-scale infrastructure organization operating mission-critical networks across Europe, is strengthening its network and security capabilities. The Senior Network Security Engineer will contribute to the secure operation, evolution, and modernization of complex IT and OT network environments supporting 24/7 business activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate and support enterprise network and security platforms in a 24/7 operational context.
  • Design, prepare, and execute network and security changes across IT and OT environments.
  • Deploy, maintain, and secure LAN, WAN, data center, and cloud connectivity solutions.
  • Support internal stakeholders across multiple European locations.
  • Contribute to network modernization initiatives, including cloud connectivity and WAN evolution.
  • Collaborate closely with other IT teams to support application and infrastructure requirements.

What are we looking for?

  • You have in-depth experience with firewall technologies, including Checkpoint.
  • You possess strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols such as OSPF, ISIS, and MST.
  • You bring hands-on experience with cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure.
  • You have experience with Cisco networking technologies, including ACI, SD-WAN, and wireless solutions.
  • You have worked with Python and/or Ansible for network automation.
  • You are familiar with monitoring, NAC, and logging platforms such as Zabbix, Elastic, and ISE.
  • You have experience with authentication and authorization services including TACACS and RADIUS.
  • You have a background in computer science or a related technical field.
  • You are fluent in Dutch OR French, and fluent in English.
  • You are open to participating in an on-call standby rotation (maximum one week out of four) and are able to travel within Belgium when required.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience working in combined IT and OT network environments.
  • Exposure to Juniper networking technologies.
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
