We’re looking for an experienced SCADA Migration & Quality Engineer to join a large-scale digital transformation project within the European energy infrastructure sector.
You’ll play a key role in upgrading and validating the software environment used for real-time monitoring and control of high-voltage energy networks.
In this role, you’ll oversee the migration and quality assurance of operational data, tools, and software components from an existing system version to a next-generation digital platform. Working closely with internal engineering teams and technology partners, you’ll help ensure a seamless transition that upholds the highest standards of reliability, safety, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor the migration between legacy and upgraded energy management systems.
- Safeguard data integrity across network models, visuals, and operational datasets.
- Collaborate with database management and development teams to test new interfaces and workflows.
- Develop and enhance quality control scripts and validation tools aligned with new system capabilities.
- Create or maintain supporting applications (e.g. using Python, Access, or other scripting languages).
- Document testing procedures, migration steps, operational workflows, and maintenance templates.
- Support knowledge transfer to technical and operational users through documentation and training.
- Contribute to Agile project activities including sprint reviews, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Promote best practices through code reviews, documentation standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What are we looking for?
- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience with software development and version control systems (e.g. Git).
- Strong scripting or programming skills in Python (or a similar language).
- Experience working in Agile teams and participating in iterative development cycles.
- Excellent proficiency in English; able to follow technical discussions in French or Dutch.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation, and quality standards.
- Self-driven, analytical, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively in teams.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Knowledge of energy systems, industrial control systems, or electromechanical processes.
- Experience with data migration, database maintenance, or SCADA/EMS-type systems.
- Familiarity with ISO quality or cybersecurity frameworks (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 27001, NIS).
- Experience developing automation or validation tools in Python or similar environments.
