We’re looking for an Oracle APEX Developer to join our client's team in Antwerp on a full-time, long-term assignment. You’ll be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing applications built on Oracle APEX, ensuring data integrity and supporting critical factory operations.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and maintain applications within Oracle APEX (currently 40+ apps in production, 3 in development across 50+ schemas).
- Analyze application dependencies: map relationships between APEX pages, tables, views, packages, procedures, and roles.
- Evaluate new requests: determine if they require new applications, new schemas, or extensions to existing apps.
- Ensure operational continuity: monitor and resolve user requests for enhancements, improvements, and failure repairs (critical for data integrity and production activities).
- Test and validate upgrades to new APEX and Oracle versions for compatibility across all applications.
- Engage with internal customers:
- Gather requirements, prepare analysis reports, and validate with stakeholders.
- Involve users during development to align progress with expectations.
- Manage testing, acceptance, and production rollout.
What are we looking for?
Strong expertise in Oracle APEX (v20.1) and Oracle Database (12c and higher).
Deep knowledge of:
- Schemas, tables, views, sequences, materialized views.
- Triggers, constraints, keys, roles, grants.
- Functions, packages, procedures, job scheduling.
- Integration of Java functionality within Oracle DB.
- Hands-on experience with:
SQL*Plus (12.1) and RMAN (12.1).
JasperReports / Jaspersoft Studio for reporting.
MS Access (Office 2016).
Linux GNU Bash scripting.
Solid background in database optimization, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders, translating requirements into robust solutions.
Able to handle urgent issues with quick response times to safeguard business-critical processes.
Nice to Have / Additional Skills
Exposure to DBA-level tasks: database migrations, high availability setups, load distribution, backup strategies.
Knowledge of Java, Visual Basic, or C programming.
Ability to provide continuity via backup resources in case of absence (>3 days).
