You will join an IT team responsible for building a new underwriting sales application in collaboration with an external delivery partner. This is a large, business-critical program, delivered through multiple parallel releases, where functional quality, clear design, and strong coordination are essential.
In this role, you sit at the intersection of business and IT. You work on client-facing sales processes, translate requirements into solid functional and technical designs, and closely follow implementation through to testing and go-live. While deep insurance expertise is not required, experience in IT analysis and backend-oriented design is key.
You will work in a dynamic environment, within a strong and collaborative team, contributing to solutions in a critical domain.
What you’ll do
- You analyse business requirements for sales and underwriting processes and translate them into clear functional and technical designs.
- You design backend-oriented solutions, with a strong focus on APIs and legacy integrations (e.g. Cobol-based systems).
- You work closely with developers and external partners to explain designs, clarify expectations, and follow up on implementation.
- You take ownership of testing activities: defining test scenarios, preparing test data, coordinating execution, and validating results.
- You contribute to the setup of run and support processes, ensuring solutions remain robust after delivery.
- You create and maintain structured documentation for processes, functionalities, and solution components.
- You communicate progress, risks, and dependencies clearly to project stakeholders and management.
- You actively contribute to a positive team dynamic and help build reliable, well-documented solutions.
What are we looking for?
- You have at least 3 years of experience as a Functional Analyst or Functional Designer in an IT environment.
- You have hands-on experience with API-based solutions and are comfortable designing and validating backend integrations.
- You are able to translate complex requirements into structured designs using schemas, diagrams, and clear documentation.
- You have experience working across analysis, implementation follow-up, and testing phases.
- You are comfortable working autonomously while remaining a strong team player.
- You communicate clearly, are pragmatic, and take ownership of your deliverables from start to finish.
- You have a good working knowledge of English.
- You are fluent in Dutch or French, and you can understand the other national language.
Nice to have
- Experience in client data, insurance, or financial services environments.
- Exposure to legacy platforms or hybrid landscapes combining modern APIs with older systems.
- Experience working on mid-scale to large IT delivery programs with multiple parallel releases.
