As a Reliability & Systems Engineer, you will help build and mature DevOps practices for software-driven industrial control systems. You will support both development and operational environments, ensuring that critical accelerator and proton-target systems run reliably, securely, and efficiently.
You work closely with project engineers, external development partners, and internal ICT teams, reporting to the DevOps Team Lead. The role combines system engineering, automation, CI/CD, and operational excellence within a highly technical and safety-critical environment.
What You Will Do
- You will design, implement, and maintain continuous integration pipelines and toolchains used to build, package, test, release, and deploy software.
- You will manage the setup, configuration, monitoring, backup, and day-to-day operation of development platforms and services.
- You will align internal processes, tooling, and policies with external development partners to ensure smooth collaboration.
- You will create guidelines, training materials, and documentation, and coach engineers — mainly software and electronics engineers — in the correct use of development and DevOps tooling.
- You will also contribute to defining requirements and architectural input for operational ICT services used by the wider engineering environment
What are we looking for?
- Je hebt een Masterdiploma in software-engineering, informatica of gelijkwaardige ervaring.
- Je beschikt over meer dan 5 jaar relevante werkervaring.
- Je hebt praktische ervaring met systeembeheer, bij voorkeur in Linux (RHEL) systemen.
- Je hebt kennis van netwerkbeheer zoals routing, switching en firewalling.
- Je bent vaardig in authenticatie en autorisatie (AD, LDAP, Kerberos).
- Je kunt scripts schrijven in PowerShell, Bash en Python.
- Je toont interesse in het ontwerpen en onderhouden van complexe systemen.
- Je hebt een veiligheidsmachtiging en een vertrouwelijkheidsverklaring vereist.
- Je hebt mondelinge en schriftelijke kennis van Engels en kunt technische documenten opstellen en reviseren.
- Ervaring met aanvullende programmeer- of scriptingtalen is een pluspunt.
- Kennis van serverbeheer, inclusief Docker, VMWare en KVM.
- Ervaring met infrastructure-as-code-tools zoals Packer, Ansible en Terraform is waardevol.
- Basiskennis van databasebeheer, bijvoorbeeld Oracle of PostgreSQL.
