We are looking for a Senior Data Governance Specialist to design and implement a pragmatic governance framework that ensures high-quality, accessible, and well-documented data across the organization. You’ll also play a key role in preparing for NIS2 compliance, helping the company meet cybersecurity and critical data management requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Define and implement a data governance framework covering quality, documentation, discoverability, and accessibility.
- Inventory, classify, and categorize critical data at rest and in transit.
- Define and monitor data policies around protection, secure deletion, access controls, and backup/restore.
- Ensure master data management practices are applied to guarantee data uniqueness.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to implement governance principles in ongoing projects.
- Drive risk and compliance activities, including confidentiality classification and secure data sharing.
- Support training and awareness campaigns around good data practices.
- Contribute directly to NIS2 compliance milestones
What are we looking for?
- 7+ years of experience in data governance and data quality.
- Strong knowledge of governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK).
- Hands-on experience with metadata & governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Ovaledge).
- Solid understanding of data methodologies & technologies, able to collaborate with IT and Data Management teams.
- Strong documentation, presentation, and change management skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation abilities in complex organizations.
- Proven leadership skills to drive adoption of governance principles.
- Languages: Native-level French or Dutch, with professional English.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of NIS2 regulation.
- Familiarity with standards like ISO/IEC 38505, ISO 8000, GDPR.
- Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, public sector).
