We are in search of a committed Electrical Engineer with coding knowledge to enhance our contributions to the community as we build a reliable and green energy infrastructure together.
- You integrate Elia Group’s requirements (e.g. new features, bug fixing, build adapters) to the open-source framework PowSyBl.
- You support in the internal development of grid analysis tools (e.g. Topology Optimizer, Voltage Optimizer) within Elia Group.
- You work on combining open-source topology and redispatch optimization tools.
- You adapt OpenRAO to the needs of Elia Group.
- You carry out benchmarks to identify bottlenecks and for quantitative evaluation.
- You ensure the applicability of developed methods using network data.
- You align self-developed load flow tools with the production systems currently in use.
What are we looking for?
- You hold a strong background in Electrical Engineering with a focus on load flow computations and grid data.
- You have strong knowledge in coding languages such as Java and Python.
- You are familiar with MILP/Quality-Diversity and general non-convex optimization.
- You possess knowledge of parallel programming patterns and massively-parallel hardware (GPUs) as a plus.
- You have experience in the development of the open-source framework PowSyBl.
- You bring experience in modeling energy systems.
- You have a strong academic background in Electrical Engineering.
- You hold a BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Informatics, or similar preferred.
- You are fluent in English with additional language skills in German, Dutch, or French considered a plus.
- You have at least three years of relevant experience.
- You are an effective communicator.
