Our client, a large organization operating a modern cloud-based data platform, is seeking a Senior Data Solution Architect to design, migrate, and evolve its Azure and Databricks data landscape. The role combines hands-on engineering, architectural ownership, and platform-level responsibility in a context where scalability, security, and governed data delivery are critical.
This position plays a key role in transitioning from legacy data platforms to a modern Azure and Databricks-based architecture while ensuring continuity, performance, and business alignment.
Responsibilities:- Design and implement secure, scalable data architectures on Microsoft Azure in collaboration with enterprise architecture.
- Migrate and redesign ETL/ELT workloads to Databricks, including performance tuning and optimization.
- Configure and manage Databricks workspaces, clusters, notebooks, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Define and uphold data platform standards covering governance, security, lineage, and best practices.
- Guide the transition from legacy data platforms to Azure and Databricks, including hybrid or interim solutions.
- Refine and manage platform-level user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery priorities.
- Act as product owner for the data platform, owning vision, roadmap, and stakeholder alignment.
What are we looking for?
- You have 7+ years of experience in data architecture and cloud-based data platforms.
- You bring strong, hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure, including networking, IAM, security, and Key Vault.
- You have proven, hands-on experience with Databricks, including Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, PySpark, and cluster configuration.
- You have demonstrable experience migrating ETL workloads to Databricks and modern lakehouse architectures.
- You possess solid knowledge of cloud security principles and governed data architectures.
- You have hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows for data platforms.
- You hold a valid Azure certification and a Databricks certification.
- You are fluent in French and Dutch and have a very good command of English.
Nice to Haves
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Bicep.
- Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Experience with data governance tools such as Purview or Collibra.
