We are looking for a skilled Azure Data Engineer to help build a scalable, modern data landscape and enable reliable reporting, analytics and data-driven decision making. You will design and maintain high-quality data pipelines, support strategic data use cases and contribute to the organisation’s move towards a self-service data model.

What you’ll do

  • Design and develop robust data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and related Azure services.
  • Implement modern data architectures including Data Lake, Delta Lake and Lakehouse patterns.
  • Automate ingestion, transformation and consumption flows across structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Collaborate with BI, Data Science and business teams to translate analytical needs into scalable data solutions.
  • Document data flows, integration patterns and data models clearly and consistently.
  • Support the rollout of self-service reporting using Power BI and Databricks.
  • Contribute to platform reliability by maintaining and improving Azure components, DevOps pipelines and security practices.

What are we looking for?

  • You have at least 5 years of experience as a Data or Cloud Engineer working with cloud-native data platforms.
  • You apply strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, Key Vault and Azure DevOps.
  • You work confidently with distributed processing using Spark, PySpark or Databricks notebooks.
  • You write performant SQL queries and develop transformation logic in Python and/or Scala.
  • You integrate CI/CD practices into data pipelines and understand how to version, test and deploy data solutions.
  • You work with Power BI administration/governance and understand how to deliver trusted, high-quality datasets.
  • You are familiar with real-time data streaming and application integration patterns (REST, AMQP).
  • You bring strong analytical skills, clear communication and the ability to work autonomously within multidisciplinary teams.
  • You are fluent in Dutch OR French, have a good level of the other national language, and you have a good working level of English.

Location: Brussels (hybrid, 2–3 days/week onsite)

Duration: 15/02/2026 – 31/08/2026 (7 months)
