Our client, a key player in the European energy landscape, is seeking a strategic expert to lead their digital infrastructure transformation. This role focuses on developing a comprehensive data center strategy to support the transition to a hybrid cloud environment while ensuring the resilience of critical real-time operational systems. Your responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive data center strategy aligned with business objectives and hybrid cloud transition goals.
- Evaluate and compare infrastructure scenarios including co-location, new builds, and edge computing for substation technology.
- Conduct detailed cost-benefit analyses and risk mitigation strategies for all proposed infrastructure models.
- Define redundancy, resiliency, and disaster recovery approaches for high-availability IT environments.
- Analyze the impact of network topology on data center locations and associated investments.
- Translate complex technical requirements into strategic roadmaps and financial plans for executive decision-making.
What are we looking for?
- 8+ years of experience in data center strategy development and implementation, including co-location and hybrid models.
- 5+ years of experience writing and evaluating Request For Proposals (RFP) for critical infrastructure.
- Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, specifically hybrid cloud and sovereign cloud solutions.
- Advanced knowledge of edge computing, virtual substation technology, and network backbone design.
- You bring a strong understanding of resilience requirements for critical IT applications in real-time operational environments.
- You possess skilled expertise in cost-benefit analysis, risk mitigation, and phased implementation planning.
- You have exceptional ability to structure and present complex information for executive-level stakeholders.
- You're self-driven and capable of working independently while maintaining alignment with internal teams.
- You are fluent in English with native level French or Dutch.
Nice to Haves
- Experience with AI-driven application infrastructure requirements.
- Knowledge of complex energy system trends and evolving utility landscape requirements.
