We are working with a leading services organization in Belgium, undergoing a major digital modernization, and we need a Junior Technical Architect to shape how their critical digital platforms connect and grow. This is your chance to transition your deep development skills into a high-impact architectural role.
What You'll Do:
- Architectural Design Contribution: Actively contribute to the conceptual and logical design of new digital features. Focus on defining component boundaries, interface contracts, and the optimal deployment topology for our services.
- Design & Standards: Design and optimize new Microservices, APIs (REST), and complex event-driven integration patterns to ensure secure and seamless data exchange across our ecosystem.
- Technical Governance: Participate in architecture review boards and technical planning sessions, ensuring new features adhere to established architectural guidelines and security policies.
- Technology Delivery: Contribute to the architecture of services using the Java ecosystem (Spring/Spring Boot), leveraging containers like Kubernetes and Docker to ensure scalability and reliability.
- DevOps & CI/CD: Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to define and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment strategies within our Cloud-Native environment.
- Documentation: Create and maintain clear, up-to-date design documentation (e.g., sequence diagrams, C4 models) for your assigned services and integrations.
What are we looking for?
- 3–5 years of hands-on professional experience in Java/Spring Boot development, with a clear focus on API design and integration.
- Proven interest in architectural principles, design patterns, and making technical trade-offs. Experience with architectural documentation is a strong asset
- Strong practical knowledge of Microservices, Integration Patterns, REST API Design, and the Java/Spring Boot ecosystem.
- Expertise in Cloud-Native Platforms is essential.
- Experience with the Azure Data Stack is highly preferred, or equivalent experience in major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
- Practical experience with Docker/Kubernetes.
- Comfortable standing up 15 minutes a day, moving around sticky notes, etc. Knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a significant asset.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent through demonstrated technical experience.
- Fluent in Dutch and English is essential. Professional working proficiency in French would be tres bien
