Join a DevOps team building cloud-native, event-driven backend services using Java and modern architecture patterns. You work across analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment — ensuring performant, secure, well-structured applications.

You will:

  • Design and build event-driven and API-based backend services in Java following DDD principles
  • Work with Spring Boot, Java EE, and modern cloud-native tooling to deliver scalable microservices
  • Analyse functional and technical requirements and help shape domain models and boundaries
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, analysts, and architects to align on domain language and solution design
  • Implement clean, maintainable code based on hexagonal architecture, ports & adapters, and CQRS/event patterns
  • Deliver high-quality features through TDD, automated testing, CI/CD, and GitOps practices
  • Work in a multicultural DevOps environment where shared ownership, communication, and reliability matter

What are we looking for?

  • Java 17+ and Spring Boot / Java EE
  • Object-oriented design and event-driven application design
  • Microservices built with DDD concepts (bounded contexts, ubiquitous language, aggregates, events…)
  • REST API design, including writing and maintaining OAS contracts
  • Hexagonal/ports-and-adapters architecture
  • Kafka (producing/consuming, event schemas, messaging patterns)
  • Persistence with JPA/Hibernate, JDBC, SQL
  • Cloud-native development on Kubernetes/OpenShift
  • GitOps tooling (e.g., ArgoCD, Tekton) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Secure coding practices (OWASP Top 10)
  • JSON and Avro
  • Integration technologies (JMS, Camel)
  • Working in DevOps teams with Git, Maven, Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket
  • Language requirement: Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus).
