Join a pivotal ICT team working on transformative projects within the technology sector. This role offers the opportunity to engage in groundbreaking development initiatives while leveraging your skills in Java and microservices architecture.

We are looking for an accomplished Expert Java Developer ready to take on significant responsibilities that will shape the future of our projects.

  • You develop and enhance an existing Java Desktop application within a microservices architecture.
  • You collaborate with the architecture team to design and define the future microservices architecture.
  • You implement developer tools, including monitoring dashboards, to streamline operations.
  • You actively participate in an Agile team, contributing to technically challenging and business-critical projects.
  • You maintain a user-centric mindset while communicating effectively with business teams.
  • You may later engage with the new microservices-based application or other applications within the team.
  • You demonstrate proactive and independent work ethics in all assigned tasks.

What are we looking for?

  • You have a strong experience level of 10 years in Java development.
  • You are proficient in Java versions 17–21.
  • You possess strong skills in Relational databases (MySQL / MariaDB).
  • You bring knowledge and experience in Spring Boot and Spring Data.
  • You are an excellent communicator.
  • You show strong problem-solving skills.
  • You have experience working in a team-oriented environment.
  • You have the ability to commit to the project’s long-term success.
  • You are proficient in French and/or Dutch at C1 level and English at C1 level.

What do we offer?

Location: Brussels (hybrid)

Contract: Freelance or Permanent

Start date: 17 November 2025

End date: 15 November 2030

On-call availability: 1 week per month (maximum)
