You will join the ICT Market Operations department and work within the that program plays a critical role in the digital processing of data from digital electricity meters, supporting market operations in the Belgian energy landscape.

You will be immediately deployed as a Java Developer in an Agile, Scrum-based environment using the LeSS framework. The team focuses on developing and maintaining applications that process high-volume, business-critical metering data. During the assignment, there is potential exposure to application setups on the Azure platform.

What you’ll do

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Java-based applications that process data from digital meters.
  • Analyze new or changing business functionalities and operational issues together with analysts and other developers.
  • Work within an Agile Scrum team, actively contributing to sprint planning, development, and reviews.
  • Integrate and interact with Siemens EnergyIP / GridscaleX (MDM) systems.
  • Develop and maintain integrations with relational databases in a Unix-based environment.
  • Contribute to code quality through unit testing and structured development practices.
  • Collaborate with other teams involved in market operations, ICT, and data processing.
  • Optionally contribute to application setups and pipelines on the Azure platfor

What are we looking for?

  • You have at least 3 years of professional experience developing Java-based applications.
  • You have hands-on experience working in a Scrum team and are comfortable in an Agile delivery model.
  • You have proven experience within the Belgian energy sector.
  • You have hands-on experience with Siemens EnergyIP / GridscaleX (MDM).
  • You have experience working in a Unix-based environment.
  • You have working knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle and SQL.
  • You have experience with unit testing and understand its role in reliable software delivery.
  • You have practical exposure to Agile development methodologies.
  • You have experience or working knowledge of Azure DevOps.
  • You have experience with Docker and container-based development.
  • You have experience with Kafka or event-driven platforms.
  • You are native-level fluent in Dutch (CEFR C2) and can operate professionally in Dutch at all times.
