As an ideal candidate, you are a seasoned Senior Automation Engineer with a passion for industrial automation and a proven track record of leadership in complex projects.   • You take ownership of the automation discipline within large-scale projects.
  • You lead the development and expansion of PLC and SCADA systems.
  • You perform programming tasks including disassembly, reprogramming, testing, and commissioning of installations.
  • You support software migrations to newer versions and platforms.
  • You diagnose and resolve complex automation issues and breakdowns.
  • You provide technical leadership and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
  • You guide the team in structuring and future-proofing automation solutions.
  • You ensure proper documentation aligned with organizational standards.
  • You contribute to cybersecurity improvements at the PLC level (passwords, certificates).

What are we looking for?

  • You have a minimum of 7–10 years of experience as an Automation Engineer.
  • You possess proficiency in PLC programming and automation software.
  • You have strong theoretical and practical knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, control technology, industrial networks, and automation hardware/software.
  • You demonstrate strong expertise in Siemens S7 PLC and TIA Portal.
  • You have experience with Siemens WinCC SCADA and the upcoming transition to Ignition.
  • You are familiar with Sepasoft Batch Sequencer.
  • You understand ISA-88 and ISA-95 standards, including batch process control and data structures.
  • You are cybersecurity aware at the PLC level.
  • You have strong communication skills to convey technical concepts clearly.
  • You are able to work independently and systematically.
  • You have a willingness to support and train team members.
  • You demonstrate high availability and presence onsite, especially during the onboarding phase.
  • You hold a minimum bachelor’s degree in Electromechanics with a specialization in Process Automation or equivalent experience.
  • You are fluent in Dutch (spoken and written).
  • You possess practical English skills for reading technical documentation and participating in technical and safety discussions.
  • You are required to have 100% onsite presence, especially during the initial phase.
  • Occasional remote work is possible after onboarding.
