We’re looking for an experienced BI Architect to lead a major data warehouse modernization and migration project from Oracle BI to Microsoft SQL Server and, later, Microsoft Fabric.
You’ll manage a team of nine BI specialists and oversee the technical design, implementation, and transition to a scalable, modern data integration architecture.
This is a leadership role combining architecture, coaching, and hands-on technical guidance.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and mentor a BI team of nine members during the migration and modernization process.
- Implement the new data integration architecture consolidating multiple data sources.
- Develop ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Rebuild reports and dashboards in Power BI, maintaining data quality and lineage.
- Extend and manage the data catalog and establish metadata standards.
- Transform existing Data Vault models into Kimball-style star schemas.
- Define and implement security and access control measures for data sources.
- Establish versioning, release, and deployment procedures for BI components.
- Translate business requirements into practical BI solutions.
- Support the adoption of Self-Service BI across departments.
- Design datamarts and OLAP cubes with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
- Document processes, standards, and development guidelines.
- Promote internal knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the BI team.
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience as a BI Architect or Team Lead in Microsoft BI environments.
- Strong background in SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, and Power BI development.
- Experience migrating from Oracle BI to Microsoft BI platforms.
- Familiarity with Data Vault and Kimball data modeling.
- Ability to design and implement data security, access control, and governance processes.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft DevOps, Synapse, or Fabric.
- Fluent in Dutch or French (native-level), with reading comprehension in the other language.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Basic knowledge of Python and IT networking.
- Understanding of data catalog solutions and data lineage management.
- Familiarity with on-premise to cloud migration strategies in BI contexts.
