You will take a hands-on lead role in the implementation of Microsoft Fabric within an existing data environment. Your focus is to design, build, and operationalize a production-ready Fabric foundation while actively transferring knowledge to an internal data team. This is not a conceptual or advisory role. You will deliver working solutions, establish best practices, and ensure long-term ownership through structured coaching and handover.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading the end-to-end implementation of Microsoft Fabric, from initial setup to production-ready workloads.
  • Designing and implementing a Medallion Architecture within Fabric, aligned with industry best practices.
  • Building scalable and reliable data pipelines using Python notebooks and Fabric Data Engineering components.
  • Implementing ETL / ELT workflows across data ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers.
  • Integrating Power BI into the data development lifecycle, including version control and DevOps-oriented workflows.
  • Establishing development standards, patterns, and guidelines for Fabric-based solutions.
  • Delivering hands-on coaching, workshops, and knowledge transfer sessions to upskill the internal data team.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth adoption and long-term ownership of the platform.
  • Preparing documentation and implementation examples to support sustainable future development.

What are we looking for?

  • As an experienced Data Engineer, you have hands-on, production experience implementing Microsoft Fabric end to end.
  • You have proven experience designing and delivering a Medallion Architecture in a modern data platform.
  • You have strong, hands-on experience with Python, notebooks, and modern data engineering workflows.
  • You have recent experience building data lakes and high-volume data transfer pipelines.
  • You have practical experience with Microsoft BI technologies, including Power BI.
  • You are familiar with DevOps practices applied to data and analytics workflows.
  • You are comfortable leading implementation work while remaining fully hands-on.
  • You are fluent in English and professionally proficient in Dutch or French.
