We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer to strengthen the global IT security capability of one of Belgium's largest CPG companies. You’ll take ownership of improving the company’s security architecture, coordinating daily operations, and driving major security initiatives across infrastructure, cloud, and business systems.
You’ll secure a mixed environment of corporate IT and production (OT) systems across more than 30 international sites, supporting around 1,800 users on four continents.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a domain expert and continuously improve the enterprise security architecture.
- Coordinate and deliver operational support for all security platforms and tools.
- Analyze and respond to security incidents across firewalls, networking, EDR, and O365 environments.
- Lead security projects and ensure delivery aligns with internal standards and methodologies.
- Validate new requirements against existing security architecture and compliance obligations.
- Perform proactive monitoring and threat detection to identify anomalies.
- Maintain security reporting, inventory, and documentation.
- Collaborate with partners to optimize platform configurations and service quality.
- Support ICT teams and business units with security guidance and best practices.
- Contribute to end-user awareness and training efforts.
What are we looking for?
Security & Infrastructure
- Proven experience as a Security Engineer or Analyst in enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of network and firewall technologies (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA).
- Experience with endpoint protection and EDR (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Defender for Endpoint).
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 security, Exchange Online Protection, Defender for Cloud, and Azure AD Conditional Access.
- Good understanding of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and Windows Server environments.
- Exposure to cloud security controls in Azure or similar cloud ecosystems.
- Experience managing network segmentation between corporate IT and OT/production systems.
Monitoring & Incident Response
- Skilled in SIEM / log analysis, incident triage, and basic threat-hunting.
- Experience writing or refining correlation rules and maintaining alerting pipelines.
- Ability to conduct root-cause investigations and propose corrective actions.
Compliance & Governance
- Working knowledge of ISO 27001, NIS2, or comparable regulatory frameworks.
- Familiarity with audit preparation, evidence collection, and control validation.
- Understanding of risk management and vulnerability classification processes.
General
- Broad IT knowledge across networking, servers, virtualization, and cloud.
- Practical understanding of ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management.
- Fluent in English, with working knowledge of Dutch or French.
