Data plays a central role in enabling smarter decision-making across the organization. To support this, a dedicated data platform and data team have been set up to accelerate digitalisation and analytics at scale.
Within this environment, you will strengthen the Smart Data Factory team as a BI Finance Solution Designer. Your role sits at the intersection of Finance, data modelling, and BI delivery. You work closely with Finance stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into robust, scalable BI solutions that engineers and BI developers can implement efficiently.
What you’ll do
- Work closely with Finance stakeholders to capture, refine, and structure BI requirements in a clear and actionable way.
- Serve as the main interface between business teams and technical profiles such as Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers and BI Developers.
- Design conceptual and logical data models for analytics, including star and snowflake schemas, tailored to Finance use cases.
- Define and maintain a BI solution blueprint, covering data sources, transformations, semantic models and reporting layers.
- Collaborate with Data and Analytics Engineers to ensure data pipelines deliver accurate, consistent and well-structured datasets.
- Work with BI Developers to ensure Power BI datasets, dashboards and reports align with the agreed designs, definitions and standards.
- Validate delivered BI solutions, ensuring they meet business expectations in terms of correctness, usability and performance.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning and reviews, helping to prioritise Finance BI deliverables.
What are we looking for?
- You have proven experience designing Finance BI solutions for core Finance domains such as General Ledger, Cost Accounting and Asset Accounting.
- You have hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance & Controlling as a source system and understand how Finance data is structured and used for analytics.
- You have strong expertise in dimensional data modeling (star and snowflake schemas) for analytical use cases.
- You have extensive experience designing and delivering Power BI solutions, including governed datasets, semantic models, dashboards and reports.
- You are skilled in data exploration, profiling and analysis, and can validate data quality and consistency before it reaches end users.
- You can translate business requirements into clear BI and data specifications, and document solution designs, data models and business definitions for both technical and business audiences.
- You understand and apply best practices in reporting and data visualisation, with a focus on usability, consistency and performance.
- You have a strong analytical mindset and take ownership of BI solutions end to end, from requirements to validation.
- You are native in French or Dutch and have a good understanding (reading and listening) of the other national language.
- You have a working knowledge of English (minimum B1).
Nice to have
- Experience with Budgeting and Forecasting processes and reporting.
- Knowledge of Azure-based data platforms, including Data Lakehouse / Medallion Architecture (Databricks, Unity Catalog).
- Experience with dbt.
- Familiarity with Data Governance concepts, processes or tooling.
- Experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment.
- Previous experience in the energy sector.
