We’re looking for an Enterprise Architect to define and lead the application architecture across strategic programs and transformation initiatives.

You’ll play a central role in designing an integrated and future-proof application landscape that ensures operational stability, scalability, and business alignment.

This role bridges business strategy and IT execution — shaping target architectures, governance models, and transformation roadmaps for long-term digital impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and maintain the integrated application architecture supporting strategic programs.
  • Lead the identification and structuring of applications, components, and functions supporting core business processes.
  • Develop and maintain a product catalog and logical application landscape, showing inter-application relationships.
  • Establish and update governance deliverables, ensuring continuity and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Co-create target and intermediate architectures in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
  • Support strategic decisions with impact analyses, scenario modelling, and architecture assessments.
  • Contribute to business cases (e.g. Buy vs. Build), RFPs, and transformation masterplans.
  • Develop transformation roadmaps, mapping dependencies, risks, and priorities.
  • Guard architectural quality in collaboration with application architects and delivery teams.
  • Coach and guide project teams in applying architecture principles, standards, and reference models.
  • Lead by influence — promote architectural governance and cross-team collaboration.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong experience in IT architecture governance and application architecture.
  • Deep understanding of legacy modernization and migration planning.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or ITABOK.
  • Broad technical background — able to engage on .NET, Java, and Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex architectures clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical and leadership skills.
  • Experience in change management and guiding transformation initiatives.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience in the public sector or social security domain.
  • Knowledge of pension systems or Belgian social legislation.
  • Previous experience mentoring architects or leading architectural communities.
