We are looking for a Business Analyst with strong analytical and conceptual skills to help shape the future of intelligent automation and digital transformation in the energy sector. You’ll act as the bridge between Business and IT within a complex, fast-evolving ecosystem that underpins Belgium’s transition to a carbon-neutral energy system.
You will work within the Customers, Markets & System Operations (CMS) department responsible for balancing energy supply and demand, designing the energy markets of tomorrow, and driving automation and data innovation across operations.
What You’ll Do
- Support business stakeholders in designing new digital and automation solutions, as well as improving existing ones.
- Define business requirements, model processes and data, and translate them into functional specifications.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the functional analysis and technical design fully meet business needs.
- Validate solution quality by preparing and executing test cases and coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Facilitate cross-functional project coordination across business domains (e.g. Markets, Grid Operations, Customer Management).
- Contribute to the enterprise data warehouse design by modelling business data and validating integrations.
- Train and support business users to optimize tool adoption and process efficiency.
- Participate in ongoing digital and automation initiativ
What are we looking for?
- Minimum 6 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar analytical/functional role.
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Commercial Sciences, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Strong experience in business process modelling and data modelling.
- Proven ability to write and validate functional specifications.
- Excellent analytical, conceptual, and communication skills.
- Experience in cross-functional project environments and digital transformation contexts.
- Fluent in Dutch or French, with good command of English.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Prior experience in the energy or utilities sector.
- Exposure to intelligent automation, data-driven optimization, or process digitization projects.
- Understanding of Agile project methodologies and enterprise data frameworks.
- Experience coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams across business and IT.
